Swim Club – Schedule and General Rules of Conduct
1. 2026 Swim Club Schedule: Opening Day: Saturday, May 23 and weekends only until
Monday, June 15. Closing Day: Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
2. Hours: Weekends/Holidays: Open 11am to 8pm; Weekdays: Open 12pm to 8pm
3. All residents and guests must present a pool membership card for admission to the pool.
4. Pool Membership is NON-TRANSFERRABLE; all guests must be accompanied by an adult resident of either Putnam or Danbury Village.
5. No one may be in the pool unless the pool is attended by the lifeguard.
6. Children –
- Only special “swim” diapers are permitted to be worn in the pool.
- Children who have reached their 12th birthday by May 15 of the current year may be
permitted within the pool area unaccompanied by an adult provided they have passed a
swimming test given by the lifeguard. The swim test consists of successfully swimming
the length of the pool, floating on one’s back and treading water in the deep area for one
minute.
- All children under 12 years of age and those who fail to pass the swim test must always be accompanied in the pool area by an adult at least 18 years of age.
- Pool attendants are not babysitters. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for their children. Guardians must be at least 18 years of age.
7. No food, alcoholic beverages or glass containers of any kind will be permitted inside the fenced area. Food and non-alcoholic beverages may be eaten outside the pool area on your
chair or blanket.
8. No pets are permitted in the pool area.
9. Radios may be played at a moderately low volume or with the use of earphones.
10. NOT PERMITTED IN THE POOL OR POOL AREA: Running, ball playing, horseplay, dunking, diving and excessive splashing.
11. Proper bathing attire must be worn. No cut-offs, shorts or pants will be permitted in the pool.
12. Use of special equipment such as masks, fins, snorkels, and floats may be used only with the lifeguard’s permission and may be prohibited at his/her discretion. This equipment may NOT be stored in the pool area and must be taken home every evening.
13. The lifeguard oversees the pool area and is responsible for the operation of the swimming pool and may prohibit any person who violates these regulations from using the pool or the
pool area.
